The Christmas market will be returning to the city again this year, running for five days longer than previous years.
Galway City Business Association (GCBA) has confirmed that the market will return from 23 November until 22 December, with traders from all over Ireland and Europe once again transforming Eyre Square into a winter wonderland.
A jam-packed entertainment schedule is promised, including early entertainment from Galway’s top live bands and DJs, performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs and carol singing together with charity and community events.
Once again, Santa’s Grotto will be run by local charities and the popular Bier Keller will be playing host to various events throughout the duration of the market.
“We are delighted to be presenting the Galway Continental Christmas Market for the third consecutive year. With last year’s event attracting over 400,000 visitors to the city and generating in excess of €11 million for the local economy, creating attractions for our city’s businesses is crucial. We look forward to an even better market this Christmas,” commented Anthony Ryan, GCBA Chairperson.
