Established in 2004 from a wealth of local jazz musicians, The West Coast Big Band has more than 400 years of musical playing experience behind them.

The band has had an extremely popular weekly gig in The Spanish Arch on Thursday nights where people came to see up to 19 players playing the increasingly popular songs of Frank Sinatra, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole and tunes made famous again recently by Michael Buble including Moondance and Quando Quando.

Led by the new musical director Duncan Moore, The West Coast Big Band has played local weddings and national events, including the Galway Oyster Festival and various charity balls.

They play at their new home in The Forster Court Hotel next door to the new Tourist Office in Forster Street on Thursday nights from 10pm till late.
