The third annual Galway Comedy Festival kicks off citywide on Thursday 20 March and runs through the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. ![]() SPLASHING OUT FOR COMEDY: Galway Comedy Festival organiser Gerry Mallon pictured at the photocall to announce the festival, which runs from Thursday 20 to Sunday 24 March around the city. Photo: Reg Gordon Comics from the US, Australia, Canada and the UK will join the best of Irish home-grown talent to make Galway the place to be this Easter. Headliners Andrew Maxwell, Colin Murphy, Neil Delamere, Ed Byrne, Rich Hall, Sean Locke, Rick Shapiro, Dave McSavage, Phil Jupitus, Karl Spain, Brendan Burns and PJ Gallagher join the stars of the TV show 'I Dare Ya' plus countless other comedy stars for spectacular shows in venues across the city. The highly anticipated new show 'That's Deep' by Elenor and Niamh Tiernan will premiere at the Town Hall and Abie Philbil Bowman returns with his new show 'Environmentally Friendly Jihad'. From the Radisson to Cuba to The Town Hall to The King's Head to Róisín Dubh, the city will rock with laughter from lunchtime right though till the wee hours. Over the past two years the Galway Comedy Festival has established itself as an unmissable event on the comedy calendar.
