Athenry Musical Society will be perform the very model of a modern major musical in February.

The Pirates of Penzance is arguably the most popular and humorous of Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas. The characters include orphaned pirates, flat-footed policemen, a bevy of blushing maidens and the pretty daughter of Major General Stanley. The show features catchy lyrics, hilarious story lines and superb costumes.

The show will be taking place in Presentation School Hall, Athenry at 8.30pm nightly from Wednesday 13 February until Saturday 16 February. For the first time, there will also be a matinee performance on Saturday 16 February at 3pm.

Tickets, which will cost €15 /€10, €10 per person for the matinee, or €30 for a group of four, will be on sale on the door on the night, and can also be booked in advance by calling 086-3598986.
