![]() Unruly children, sham marriages and flatulence problems are just some of the themes explored in Zelig Theatre Company's 'The Donahue Sisters and A Galway Girl', a play by Geraldine Aron, which runs at the Town Hall Studio later this month. The play will run from Wednesday 20 February to Saturday 1 March at 8.30pm. It will preview on Tuesday 19 February. The story follows Galway girl Maisie who is a working class mother struggling to keep her marriage, family and life from disintegration. Dermot, her husband, is an abusive alcoholic. She loves him but hates that she stays with him despite his unjustified behaviour. Annie, Rosie and Dunya are The Donahue Sisters. Life isn't what each of the girls had hoped for as stories of unruly children, sham marriages and flatulence problems are revealed. Their frustration is epitomised in a re-enactment of a childhood event that has dark, bloody consequences. The cast comprises of Tara Breathnach, Martina Carey, Saileóg O'Halloran and Brendan Ryan. Tickets, which are priced at €12/€10 and the preview tickets are priced at €6, are available from 091-569777. |
