Emmet O'Malley.

Because of the great success and huge demand from musicians to play at the Freedom Café as part of the Unchained Melodies, Amnesty in Galway is now starting with an extra long set from 5pm this Valentine's Day, Thursday 14 February.

Songwriter, comedian and filmmaker, Emmet O'Malley has been performing solo for the last three years. He has a high-energy act, based around music and observations. Between music and comedy, he has played in all the major venues in Ireland, including Vicar St, Comedy Cellar, International Comedy Club, Laughter Lounge, City Limits Cork and Comedy Club at Cuba. In the past he has supported Dom Irrera, Tommy Tiernan, Dara O'Brian, Colin Murphy and David McSavage among others.

For the past four years, Norwegian Ståle Vaage has played on the musical stage in his hometown Bergen, the capital of music on Norway's west coast. He has written several Norwegian folksongs and is planning to perform some of them on the night. He came to Galway because of his love for folk music but also to experience Ireland and its culture.

For more information, contact Anna Sorensdotter, Amnesty International, 2-3 Middle Street, Galway. Phone 091-533 637 or check out www.amnesty.ie.
