This year's Cruinniú na mBád festival is scheduled for this weekend of 10 to 12 August. This festival commemorates the traditional maritime links between Kinvara and Connemara. Three All-Ireland winners of the national sean-nos singing competition Corn Uí Riada will perform at the concert this year.

An tAmhrán Beo will host its 19th annual concert during the weekend, offering the best of traditional singing in both languages.

The concert takes place this year at the Johnston's Hostel, Kinvara (opposite Tully's), on Saturday, 11 August, at 8.30pm.

Amongst those participating in this year's concert are Connemara singers, Johnny Mháirtín Learaí, Treasa Ní Cheannabháin; from Ring, Áine Uí Cheallaigh, from Craughwell, Seán O Flannagáin, from Roscommon, Rachel Garvey and Pauline Hanley, and Robbi McMahon from Spancel Hill, Co Clare.

There will also be music from Cath Taylor and Eileen Fleming.
