The 'Trad Connections' show featuring TG4 Musician of the Year, Martin Tourish will play at the Clifden Arts Week Festival, which will take place from Thursday 18 to Sunday 28 September.

Tourish will play on Sunday 21 September in the Alcock and Brown Hotel at Clifden Arts Week alongside fiddler Liz Coleman, jazz guitarist Hugh Buckley, multi-instrumentalist Ciarán Swift and classical and traditional guitarist and vocalist Dave Flynn as part of a nationwide tour of the event in September.

The event brings together five top Irish performers with expertise in many different musical genres, whose talents are sure to captivate audiences and bring them on a magical journey showcasing the links between traditional, jazz, classical and world music while also creating some unique musical arrangements by marrying the various styles.

Tourish has unrivalled ability on the piano accordion and is as comfortable playing Bach as he is Piazzolla tangos and traditional music from his native Donegal. Award winning composer Dave Flynn is best known for his work with the world-renowned fiddler Martin Hayes for whom he has recently composed a fiddle concerto.

"The trad sessions show will be a great addition to an already brilliant and exciting programme. The group are highly talented and ambitious and we have no doubt that their tour will be a huge success. We are delighted that they decided to include Clifden Arts Week in it," said Brendan Flynn, Director of Clifden Arts Festival.
