2. 'The Melody of a falling tree' – Windsor for the Derby

3. 'I will possess your Heart' – Death Cab for Cutie
From this year's Narrow Stairs Album. These Seattle Songsters get better and better.

4. 'Paint it Black' – The Rolling Stones
Still works its magic… timeless

5. 'Kids' – MGMT
'Oracular Spectacular' is one of the albums of 2008, eclectic, brainy pop with heavy psychedelic overtones.

6. 'Oxford Comma' – Vampire Weekend
Preppy, well-read, indie, rock with joyful Afro-pop-inspired melodies and rhythms… Revenge of the Nerds?

7. 'Restless' – Unkle
Accidentally stumbled into their gig at the Electric Picnic last year, immediately converted…Dark, Dirty, Moody, Sexy… the perfect date.

8. 'No Cars Go' – Arcade Fire
If Carlsberg did bands…

9. 'Such Great Heights' – The Postal Service
From the 2003 album 'Give it Up' 4:26 minutes of perfection.

10. 'Killing in the Name' – Rage Against the Machine
Sixteen years later, and youthful rebellion still doesn't get better than this... F*** You! If you don't agree.

Monty plays his lethal mix of old and new rock and roll and dirty beats late night in the Róisín Dubh every Wednesday (After the Laughter Lounge). He also hosts KARIBU with a section of lazy hazy world music vibes in the Blue Note every Tuesday.
