The Comedy Club at Cuba* presents the final of 'The Toilet D**k Award for new Irish Comedy' tonight, Wednesday 27 February, in conjunction with the 'Friends Of Ted' 08.

Regional heats all over the country have produced six finalists who will battle it out for the €1,000 cash prize as well a slot at the upcoming Galway Comedy Festival and, of course, the priceless trophy.

A panel of judges will be closely monitoring these aspiring stand-ups and the audience will be able to vote for their own particular favourite. Every vote will be entered into a draw for tickets for PJ Gallagher's gig at the Town Hall Theatre on Good Friday.

Special guest on the night will be last year's winner Sharron Mannion, who since garnering last year's gong has gone on to become of the most in-demand acts on the circuit.

Gerry Mallon is the MC for the evening and tickets, €12.50, are available in advance at Bar 903 and at the door, which opens at 8.30pm.
