A no limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament will be held in The Eglinton Casino tomorrow, Thursday 25 September.

The tournament is a fundraising initiative for artisit?, a creative project that began in 2006 to introduce like-minded artists and exchange creative ideas.

Registration is at 8pm or people can buy tickets, €20+€5 entry fee, €20 re-buys in advance from 087-9514030.

artist? 2008 will be presented in Galway, Ireland with an offshoot in Glasgow, Scotland. The shows will be curated with work from emerging talent on the international art scene and beyond. Two European cultural capitals will host a myriad of disruptive events for two consecutive weeks. The event is a creative playground for artistic ideas, connectivity and provocation, bridging the gap between art education and practice.

artisit? 2008 will provide a boutique environment to showcase a selection of artwork from New York, Reykjavík, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Glasgow and Ireland.

The various shows will be charged with unusual activity - innovative and voyeuristic - involving alternative locations around Galway and Glasgow.

artist? 2008 features fresh artwork from 20 selected artists and a host of international gallerists, photographers, trendsetters, designers, DJs, music collectives, fashion/art collaboratives and thinkers.

The event provides a unique opportunity to see the most current developments in the world of contemporary art.

It will provide an international platform for an eclectic series of art events, exhibitions, music events and parties showcasing the work of young emerging artists from around the world. It presents a series of site-specific artwork, installation, video, photography, drawing, print, painting, performance, and interventions, investigating work from cutting edge art schools.
