Backstage Comedy Factory begins a series of teen comedy early nights at Cuba on Sunday 30 September.
The comedy factory is part of the performing arts group Backstage Academy of Performing Arts and results from work done in comedy workshops over the past year. It is totally unique concept where teens perform stand up comedy and improvised comedy for teens. No adults involved! The team of teens, ranging in age from 14 to 18 years, will each perform their own stand-up comedy piece as well as being part of a team for the comedy improv. While the stand up part of the show can be rehearsed, there is no knowing where the comedy improv section will go. The first teen comedy show will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm in Cuba on Sunday 30 September. Doors open at 6.15pm. Tickets, €9, are available from Zhivago Records on Shop Street.
