Digital Bubblebath are back this month with the head honcho of Ireland's leading Dance Label: D1 Records. Unquestionably a pivotal figure in Irish dance music, Eamonn Doyle has made his mark locally - as DJ, producer, label owner/manager, club promoter, and as all-round advocate and enthusiastic purveyor of all that is good in techno and electronic music. Eamonn Doyle and the Digital Bubblebath residents downstairs in The Underground @ The Cellar on Friday 14 March. He first made his mark in his home country when he co-formed the now-legendary indie label Dead Elvis in 1991. Converted to the emerging sound of techno and electronic music, he founded D1 Recordings three years later. An unprecedented platform to help push Irish producers, D1 Recordings has remained consistent in the quality of its output, and has featured releases from both Irish and international talent including Donnacha Costello and Dave Donohoe. Doyle has also made a significant and defining contribution to the development of electronic music in Ireland through his establishment of DEAF (Dublin Electronic Arts Festival) in 2002 - an annual event designed to bring the electronic arts both into new environments and to new audiences. Since its inception, the festival has showcased an eclectic array of international artists (from Coil to 4Hero, Resistance, Ulrich Schnauss and Mu-ziq) alongside their Irish counterparts. Doors are at 10pm and admission is €10. |
