Jenny Lindfors from Sweden plays Amnesty International's Freedom Café tomorrow, Thursday 17 January, at 6pm as part of Amnesty's Unchained Melodies series.

With the first songs scribbled at the age of six, the first guitar strings strummed at 12 and the first stage dive in the Rock Garden at 14, Jenny Lindfors has always had the musical bug.

"I've always been aware of the difference between whiny self-indulgence and touching melancholic music. I've never been very good at being contrived. People know when something is a genuine expression from the heart or a crock of sh*t," she says.

Jenny was selected as one of the Best New Acts of 2007 in the Sunday Times Culture section recently. Her debut album, 'When the Night Time Comes' was also selected as one of the Top Ten Irish albums of 2007 in the Irish Independent.

Her new single, the third taken from the 'When The Night Time Comes', is 'Timewarp', which is to be released on Friday 1 February.

Admission to this event is free and everyone is welcome.

If you are interested in playing or require details on this event, contact Anna Sorensdotter, Amnesty International on 091-533637 or check out www.amnesty.ie.
