Cártaí Poist, the television series that recreates iconic scenes from picture postcards, is back.

Last year the show travelled the high roads and byroads of the country seeking out people who were photographed in classic John Hinde postcards. This year’s series offers a host of new guest presenters including Moya Brennan, Dara O Cinnéide, Jim Lockhart and Pat Butler.

This week actress Yvonne Ní Laiffe from Clonbirr, Co. Galway is exploring old postcards of Limerick City and Beansha, Co. Tipperary.

Yvonne’s challenge poses may obstacles as the location of the Treaty stone in Limerick has moved since her 1950’s card was taken. She must also organise a horse, cart and enough bails of hay to take her new shot of farmer Pat Bergin driving a horse down a country lane. Will she manage to keep horse and rider in toe?

Three postcards, two days, the race is on!
 
The show will air on Sunday 2 September on TG4 at 8pm.
