Nolan's love affair with music officially began at eight years of age, when she got a guitar for Christmas. However, she says, it actually began six years before that.

"It's a funny story actually but also slightly cringe-worthy, so I think I may have to keep that one to myself. I'd spend countless hours daily with my headphones on, trying to play along and making cute attempts at writing songs of my own. It was my dream at the time to be in The Bangles … alas it wasn't to be...," she says.

She continued to play and write and joined her first band when she was 19 years old. In the years since, she's been influenced by artists such as Joni Mitchell, KD Lang and Tori Amos as well as educated by the musical tastes of the very cool people she's played with along the way.

Admission is free.
