Galway people unlucky in love will have an opportunity to speed up the matchmaking process at a charity event in Club Karma tomorrow.

The club will play host to a speed dating night tomorrow, Thursday 24 July, in aid of the Niall Mellon Township Trust, which is being organised by Tuam girls Medbh Killilea and Bernadette O Donnell.

Volunteers of the Niall Mellon Township Trust every year raise money and travel to South Africa to build houses in the townships. November 2007 was the biggest blitz to date, with 203 houses and 1,380 volunteers – the biggest number of volunteers ever to leave the island of Ireland. They team eve built a community centre and a garden/play area in one week!

Both Medbh and Bernadette will be travelling to Capetown in November and are really looking forward to the challenge ahead.

Doors are open at 8pm and admission is priced at €10.

For more information, contact Medbh on 086-8226670 or Bernadette on 087-7589437.
