St Patrick's week celebrations in Galway kick-off with a special concert celebrating the music and song of the nation on Thursday, 13 March at 8pm, with Galway based musician Tom Cullivan and friends at Galway City Museum.

This special concert will also see Tom joined by Eamonn Rabitte (violin), Elena Gekker (piano) and Michael Hannon (vocals). As well as playing some of the great songs and tunes of the nation the repetoire will also include some of the classic Moore's melodies.

Tickets, €15 and can be booked by calling 091-532460.

The week's festivities will be brought to a close on St Patrick's night Monday 17 March with a Céilí Fest Noz in the Blackbox at 9pm. This is the fourth year that such an event has taken place and is once again organised by the Galway-Lorient Twinning Committee.

Among the attractions at the Céilí Fest Noz will be the St Patrick's Day Parade visiting groups - including the Uist Pipe Band from Scotland and the Cercle Argoat from Lorient.

They will be joined on the night by Irish musicians and céilí dancers, as well as some Breton crepes-makers to provide food for the masses!

Admission to the event is €7 and can be booked in advance by calling 091-569777.
