South American guitar players Fernando Lima, Cecilia Siquiera and Lucas Gonzales will play in the Augustinian Church, Augustine Street on Saturday 2 August at 8.30pm. ![]() Originally from Uruguay, Lima and Siquiera play South American, and particularly Brazilian, music and have received acclaim from critics wherever they have played. They trained under world-class master guitarists, David Russell, Fabio Zanon and Henrique Pinto and have won many prestigious awards for their guitar playing, which encompasses classical music and popular Brazilian music. Lucas Gonzales is one of the distinguish talents in film music today. He has scored features in virtually every genre, all with strikingly original music. Born in Cordova Argentina, and guitar player for more than ten years, he opened up a new world unfamiliar classical melodies with film scoring. He visited Galway a few weeks ago as he played with the big Garcia Flammenco reunion tour and will be back to play traditional acoustic music from Argentina this time. The trio has also invited two guests for the night to join them for a big Latin finale. Marion Krauthker and Enrique Ringa are world-class professional tango dancers whom currently live in Galway.
