Film: Step Brothers

Hollywoood's hottest comedy duo, Will Ferrell and John C Reilly (they seem to have an awful lot of fun making these movies), have teamed up once again for an enjoyable romp that tells the tale of two adult step brothers. It's idiotic, childish and won't win any Oscars, but you know you'll laugh out loud at the goofy double act.

Music: Milosh - 'Iii', (K7 Records)

This is Canadian Mike Milosh's third album and it's full of beautiful electronic pop songs that show off the classically trained cellist's playing as well as his haunting falsetto. The intricate digital beats, soulful synths and his often mournful vocals melt together seamlessly and make this an album that becomes more beguiling with each listen.

Club: Sebastien Leger - GPO, Friday 5 September

He may have remixed Justin Timberlake and Kylie Minogue but Sebastien Leger's no pop DJ; indeed his trademark sound of funky tweakin' electronic house and techno have made him one of the most in-demand club DJs in the world. The affable Frenchman always pulls a full house at the Eglinton Street venue and this should be no exception.

Comedy: Doug Stanhope - Laughter Lounge, Róisín Dubh Wed 3 September

Yes it got last week's comedy gig of the week too, but it falls tonight, so just treat this as a last call to arms to check out a controversial, subversive, risk-taking, darkly funny comedian who regularly divides audiences with his act. Love him or loath him, you'll certainly be talking about him afterwards.
