Film: Wall-E

It's been labelled as the best animation movie ever from Pixar, quite a high accolade considering their past output. Set 700 years in the future, Wall-E is beautiful but at all times melancholic story of love of a rubbish-collecting robot with a heavy, powerful and prescient ecological message. Well worth the entrance fee.

Comedy: Ed Byrne - Comedy Club, Cuba*Live Sunday 27 July

One of Ireland's best-known comics, Ed Byrne, winds things up at the Galway Arts Festival. A regular on RTé's 'The Panel', Channel4's '8 Out Of 10 Cats' and BBC'2's 'Mock The Week'. Byrne is as popular in the US and UK as he is here. Tickets available at the Arts Festival Box office with a limited number available from Bar 903. Doors 8.30pm.

Music: Jape – 'Ritual' – (V2)

A hedonistic head the ball, Richie Egan is making music that gives a fun-filled two fingers to all and sundry. As anyone who has caught his live shows can attest, the man knows a good tune and writes some ridiculously good lyrics. These days everyone talks about rock/dance crossovers, well this man does it effortlessly. Music for bouncing around your kitchen to or going crazy in a festival!

Club: New Young Pony Club DJ set - Bar 903, Friday 25 July

Go get your Top Shop gear on, Fridays in 903 just got a whole lot indie-er with the ladies from New Young Pony Club dropping in for a raucous one-off session. They absolutely rocked Gigantic with a killer tune selection when they DJed there a few months back. They're good fun and quite hot to boot! And it's all for free! Now I wonder where 903 have hidden Colm Kenefick??
