Music: Various Artists - 'Electric Chair Saved My Life', (Tirk)

Manchester boys the Unabombers (aka Elektrons) ran the now sadly defunkt Electric Chair for 12 glorious years, bringing the cream of the world's DJs (including Francois K, Gilles Peterson and Laurent Garnier) to their sweaty basement party. This is the first of a new series of compilations based on the legendary club and it's chocabloc with eclectic funky floorfillers.

Club: 091 present Prosumer - Cellar Underground, Saturday 13 September

Guest DJs come and go on a regular basis in all clubs now, but few have the pedigree of Achim Brandenburg, aka Prosumer. Resident DJ at one of Europe's foremost underground clubs - Berghain/Panoramabar in Berlin - he brings his bag of deep house and techno tricks to Galway for the first time. Heads down real deal house music, not to be missed!

Comedy: Karl Spain - Comedy Club @ Cuba*Live, Sunday 14 September

The lovable Limerick rogue with the lightning fast retorts and sharp tongue returns to the Galway for a night of good-natured revelry. London-based Irishman Kevin Hayes is also on the bill, while Joe King (real name or handy pseudonym?!) is the open mic virgin. Gerry Mallon holds it all together… just!

Gig: Republic Of Loose - Róisín Dubh, Saturday 13 September

Ireland's premier funksters are back to rock the party like only they can. Their sleazy mix of hiphop, funk, gospel, blues and good old rock and roll would make even the laziest futhermucker shake their thang. A night of bawdy badness and insanely catchy tunes. If it ain't already sold out, get your tickets quickly for this one!
