Gill Beatty as Sleeping Beauty and Gavin Ferry as Prince Philip in PASG's Sleeping Beauty at the Blackbox.

The production stars Gavin Ferry of Ros na Rún and Jigs and Reels and Sean T O'Meallaigh, who starred most recently in the Oscar nominee-contender Kings as Colm Meaney's younger self. The rest of the main cast includes professional actors from the Galway area and the supporting cast are sourced from the Performing Arts School of Galway and Regina Rogers School of Ballet.

The plot stays true to the Disney classic with lots of drama, tears and sensational celebrations. A comic duo called Maudie and Paudie lead the audience through this musical adventure introducing the audience to a host of fairytale characters, some 21st century characters reminiscent of the Beckhams and Gordon Ramsey alongside a flock of colourful fairies and eerie characters of the forest. The performance is audience-interactive and full of mesmerising dance sequences and topical references.

Sleeping Beauty will run from Monday 1 January to Saturday 6 January in the Black Box Theatre. There will be two shows daily at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets, €14/€16, are available from 091-569777.
