![]() John Bishop. One of the most popular regulars on 'The Panel' (RTE2), Liverpool's John Bishop headlines the Comedy Club at Cuba* next Sunday 22 June. John began stand-up in October 2000 and within four months was the headline act at some of the biggest clubs in the UK.There are few comics as comfortable on stage as him, he just pulls up a bar stool either metaphorically or physically and starts shooting the breeze. No two shows are ever the same, his engaging brand of observational humour mines his varied and colourful life experience, from fatherhood to cycling around the world, from a successful career in the corporate sector to playing semi professional football all the way through to working as a nightclub doorman. A true out and out Scouser, he has his own slot on Radio Merseyside dedicated to his beloved 'Reds'. Support comes from the always-enjoyable Robbie Bonham and Gerry Mallon is the host and MC. Tickets, €12.50 are available in advance at Bar 903,the Cellar Bar and at the door which opens at 8.30pm. |
