The Laughter Lounge at the Roisin Dubh is throwing a special Santa Birthday Party night of comedy on Wednesday 23 December featuring some of Galway's finest comedians, including John Donnellan, Giles Brody, Bob Hennigan, Danny Dowling and Kieran Lawless.

Local comic hero John Donnellan's self deprecating style has seen him as a semi-finalist 'in 'So you think you're funny?' Edinburgh 2007 and a winner of 'Stand Up Showdown' Galway Comedy Festival 2008 and The Enable Ireland Stand Up Showdown in Roisin Dubh last January.

The 2009 TedFest runner up Giles Brody has performed at Kilkenny and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals and at numerous venues around the country. He appears in web sitcom Life Coach with Bob Hennigan, which he also co-writes.

A co-writer and co-star of the aforementioned Life coach, Bob Hennigan won 'The Father Ted Toilet Duck Award' and is a regular at the top comedy clubs ion Ireland.

Danny Dowling has developed a very successful comedy club of his own in Campbell's Tavern, culminating in a year's work with a sold out show in the Galway Comedy festival. His best friend John Donnellan, who performed in and reviewed the show for Hot Press, gave it five stars.

Up and coming comedian Kieran Lawless isn't remotely lawless. He has a gravely voice and talks about his failings with women to get sympathy kisses. Apparently it's never worked.
