Revving up to go solo
Page 2

What do you think of the current Irish music scene?

There is some great new music out there but I have been very removed from it for two years so I can't comment. Ask me in one year when my album is either a hit or a flop and I will either think the scene is fantastic or rubbish.

Is this your first time playing solo in the Róisín Dubh? And are you looking forward to it?

Yes, I played the Róisín Dubh three times with The Revs, brilliant venue; it attracts the right people, so I can't wait for my solo gig.

What is next for you?

I am going to go downstairs to the kitchen and make myself a killer sandwich with turkey, salami, cheese, ham, mustard… the works!

Rory plays the Róisín Dubh on Saturday 23 August. Tickets, €7, are available from the Róisín Dubh on Dominick Street.
