The Black Box will pound to the sound of the heaviest bass and the sweetest vibes this weekend as local reggae promoters Rootical Sound System throw their first Galway party of 2009. An institution not only in Galway but around the country and beyond (the Rootical crew recently played some high profile gigs in Germany), the Galway based collective have been playing and promoting only the very best in dub, roots and reggae since the early 90s.

The dubwise excursion on Saturday 21 February will be the first in a series of roots reggae meetings planned for 2009. It's a night of totally Irish flavas featuring Dublin's Dub Investigation alongside Cork's Harry J & The Conspiracy as well as some other guests. Doors open at 10pm and tickets are €12 in advance from the Town Hall Theatre or €15 on the door on the night.
