Three-piece roots-oriented band, The BooHoo Ramblers will play The Crane Bar on Sea Road this Saturday, 28 June at 6.30pm.

Clark Ashton (Augusta), Patrick Mitchell (Navan) and Pete Frisina (Illinois) are now celebrating over five years as a working band, having entertained Atlanta and beyond. They branched out of Virginia, becoming regulars at Blind Willie's in Virginia Highlands and proceeding to expand into neighbouring states. They recorded their debut CD in 2004 and released their second disc 'Other Side of Heaven' in late 2007.

The core of The BooHoo Ramblers is the three-piece group whose natural chemistry allows for unpredictable tangents and spontaneous arrangements. They play original and cover tunes that blend traditional, country, folk-rock and bluegrass styles.

Often the band is joined on stage by dobro, mandolin, drums, or guest vocalists that offer depth and texture to the core group's tight sets. Upbeat and highly stylized versions characterise the interpretation of cover material of familiar tunes by artists ranging from The Carter Family to Jethro Tull.

Tickets, €7, are available from The Crane Bar.
