A brand new show telling the story of Donny Osmond, Puppy Love will run in the Town Hall Theatre on Friday 6 June at 8pm. ![]() From the early age of six, Donny Osmond appeared singing live on the Andy Williams show. Soon the record deals were done and he was having hit after hit. His music appealed to all the teeny-boppers of the time, and has spawned countless imitations. Donny was part of a huge musical family and his younger brother Jimmy also released a number of successful hit songs too, the best known of which would be Long Haired Lover From Liverpool. In the show, the role of Little Jimmy is played by Neil Fennelly. From his early beginnings on the Andy Williams show aged six, Donny Osmond has always captivated audiences. Jason Paul Ryan steps into the role to do likewise, while a fantastic supporting cast and some local guest performers ensure this will be a show that everyone can enjoy. Local kids from Backstage Galway will join in with the cast to star in a tribute show to the music legend that is part of the world's best-loved showbiz family The Osmonds. Young and old will enjoy this show, and because Donny continues to make music today, the show features hits from various genres. Songs from pop, rock and roll, soul, musicals, TV and film all feature in this show. The producers of the show, Starlight Stage Productions, are associated with high quality and entertaining shows and this is no different. A professional cast has brought this show to life on a tour that has already included venues in Carlow, Omagh, Naas, Kilkenny and Monaghan. This show is all about the music and the hardest part in the creation of the show, according to organisers, was deciding which songs to leave out. Tickets, priced €18/€16 are available from 091-569777. |
