The Japanese Popstars make a welcome return to the College Bar on the back of their much anticipated first album today, Wednesday 1 October.

The Japanese Popstars are the current kings of Ireland's electro music scene. After another summer of playing the biggest festivals in the UK and Ireland, they have built up a legion of fans that have quickly caught on to the quality of these three Derry lads.

Founded after a number of drunken discussions while attending a number of large musical festivals, such as Glastonbury, the three DJs decided to collaborate and create their own music. It wasn't long before the music industry realised that the Popstars had a serious sound.

The JapStars have also been up for some serious awards, including Best House DJs at the 2006 World Urban Music Awards, and Best Live Performance at the 2007 Northern Ireland Dance Music Awards. For this return gig to Galway, the JapStars will be putting on a full live show playing their new album which the Irish Daily Star proclaimed as 'The best dance album of 2008 and the soundtrack to our summer'.
