The cupantae.ie café in Carraroe is the exciting new venue for a poetry reading by Irish language poet Louis de Paor and Galway City and County Writer-In-Residence Michael O'Loughlin. The duo will read from their own work at 7.30pm on Tuesday 11 December at 7.30pm in the café. Cork-born Louis de Paor has been involved with the contemporary renaissance of poetry in Irish since 1980. His latest collection of poetry, Cúpla Siamach an Ama (The Siamese Twins of Time), was published by Coiscéim in December 2006. Michael O'Loughlin has published critical essays, translations and many collections of poetry, the most recent of which is 'Another Nation: New and Selected Poems'. Do you write? The reading will be followed by an open mike slot. This is an opportunity to share work with an audience - in Irish, English, Polish or French. For more information phone 087-6896519. |
