MUSIC: Mark E - 'Works 2005-2009' - (MERC)
Mark Evetts' Galway debut in Deeper last September was one hell of a party and the man behind some of the sexiest, chugging slo-mo house and disco of the last five years has compiled a limited edition album of some of his finest works and edits previously only available on vinyl. COMEDY: Comedy Comedy - Saturday 23 January - Upstairs @ Róisín Dubh
Local comedy clowns John Donnellan and Danny Dowling present the first night of a new monthly weekend comedy showcase. The terrible twosome will present stand-up, sketches and much more with the help of guests each month. Fred Cooke brings his unique brand of playful comedy for the opening night.
CLUB: 110th Street - Deeper - Saturday 23 January
Local purveyors of the finest electronic moods and grooves Sisi are back for their first 110th Street bash of 2010 and their first night since their euphoric 11th birthday last November. Expect swirling hypnagogic house, delicious bittersweet Italo disco and the occasional entrance of choice dominatrix techno. Nice.
GIG: The Ambience Affair/Puzzle Muteson - Roisin Dubh Upstairs - Thursday 21 January
If you didn't manage to get a Pete Doherty ticket, fret not. Upstairs on the same evening two of the better up-and-coming acts perform for your delectation. Dublin duo The Ambience Affair are one of Ireland's better kept secrets, while Puzzle Muteson's dreamy acoustic folk is making him a name whispered on more and more lips.
