MUSIC: Nick Cave & Warren Ellis – 'The Road' - (Mute)
Messers Cave and Ellis show how a dark, menacing soundtrack should be done with their work on the soundtrack to John Hillcoat's latest movie based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Cormac McCarthy. The film itself is a post-apocalyptic tale and there's a pervading sense of doom and danger around each corner in this haunting soundtrack.

COMEDY: Jason Byrne - Laughter Lounge - Wednesday 13 January

FILM: Seraphine - Galway Film Society - Sunday 17 January
It's the first film of the new season in Galway Film Society's 2010 winter/spring programme, which will feature wonderful films from every corner of the globe every Sunday night in the Town Hall until 14 March. Directed by Martin Provost, Seraphine is a touching evocative film on the life of a cleaning lady who went on to become a major artistic talent in the early 20th century.
