MUSIC: Keb Darge & Paul Weller Present – 'Lost & Found Real R & B and Soul' – (BBE)
His London Saturday night residency at Madame JoJo's has seen Keb Darge help resurrect the soul sound of the 50s and 60s and here he gets a little help from fellow 60's fan Weller. What they serve up is a stellar mix of real gritty soul and R&B (not the whiney plastic contemporary rubbish) that'd move the finest dancefloors and the funkiest feet.
GIG: Timbertramps - Monroe's Live - Friday 5 February
Galway's own raggle taggle collective kick off their new monthly Friday residency at Monroe's Live this weekend. The band were the first act to take to the stage at Galway's newest live venue on their opening night last year and their psychobilly, reggae, Cajun and country mash-up will have the crowd in fine form.
COMEDY: Zoe Lyons - Laughter Lounge - Wednesday 3 February
Though not that well known yet in Ireland as a stand-up - Irish TV viewers would be well accustomed to her from many appearances on 'Mock The Week' - Zoe Lyons has been building up a strong reputation for herself on the UK's stand-up circuit and was nominated for If.Comedy best Newcomer in 2007.
CLUB: Lisa Lashes - GPO - Friday 5 February
Get your glow sticks out! The leading lady of the hard house brigade comes to town to whip the Galway crowd into a frenzy, while promoting her new 'Dancefloor Orgy' release. Support on the night comes from Irish clubbing legend Mark Kavanagh, Michael Doherty and Damo Kay.
