An exhibition of new work by award-winning Irish artist and illustrator Vincent Killowry opens at 6pm tomorrow, Thursday 12 July, in The Bold Art Gallery.

Over the past 20 years, Vincent's reputation in fine art and design has steadily grown. To date, he has designed over 40 postage stamps on the themes of aviation, maritime, railways and motor-sports. Many of these stamps and first day covers will also be on display at the exhibition. He was the winner of the An Post 2005 Stamp of the Year Competition with his tall ships, which celebrated the commencement of the Tall Ships Race from Waterford in July 2005.

'Through Eyes of Wonder' features recent paintings that reflect his life-long interest in the great machines of land, sea and air. Other new works concentrate on the artist's sense of wonder at his young children and how they now marvel at the world around them, the simple things in life that we all enjoyed as children, such as climbing trees, collecting sea shells, fishing, paddling and flying kites.

There is a timeless quality in many of these works, which the artist hopes will bring back the child in all of us, if only for a brief moment.

'Through Eyes Of Wonder' will run until Wednesday 25 July. For further information contact the gallery on 091-539900.
