We are family!

The launch night for ‘Family’, a weekly club for beardy disco boys and cool cosmic girls, swings into action this Friday 11 July with Ray and Aran providing the ‘modern sounds’ in the cosmopolitan, sexy surrounds of Tosh Late Lounge Bar under the Meyrick Hotel.

The sophisticated decor and extensive drinks and cocktail menu of Galway's finest late night lounge bar will coalesce perfectly with the decadent sounds of Galway’s, Ireland's and indeed some of Europe's best DJs. Other members already on board are Disconauts with some younger relations - of the local, national and international variety - soon to be added to the Family tree.
Come and get acquainted with Ray and Aran and other Family members this and every Friday night at Tosh Late Night Lounge Bar. Admission is free before 11pm and €8 after, with dancing til late.

Latin Spirit at No 8

Sabrosa Live! - a live salsa band playing an original fusion of jazz, salsa and bossa nova - bring a touch of Latin spirit to Galway with their debut gig in No 8 The Docks this Thursday night.

The band is the brainchild of lead vocalist Gillian Bogan who acquired a deep love for Latin music while travelling extensively in Central and South America. She has assembled a collection of Galway's finest musicians for the project including the renowned and accomplished Mark Logan (Disconauts Live, Calle Latina) and Barry Duffy (Calle Latina, Armada Latin, Michelle Shocked) on percussion, Ger Madden (Calle Latina, Armada Latina) on piano, Joe Brady (The Commitments, West Coast Big Band) on saxophone, Duncan Moore (The Black Magic Band, West Coast Big Band) on trombone and the gifted Jamie Harris (played with Joe Lovano, Ben Monder in NYC) on bass guitar.

The Sabrosa Live! set promises to include some familiar jazz and soul tunes mixed with Salsa and Bossa Nova beats as well as some hip-shaking, shimmy-making Salsa favourites from across the Spanish-speaking globe.
Catch Sabrosa Live! this Thursday 10 July at Bar No8 at 9pm. Entry to this opening gig is free!!
