The Galway Irish Polish Association (GIPA) will celebrate one year in existence with an anniversary party on Sunday 22 June at The Cellar Bar.

The official party will start at 6pm, when volunteers and officials who supported GIPA over the last year and GIPA members will share a birthday cake.

There will also be a speech and multimedia presentation, which will summarize some of the biggest GIPA's projects, such as The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity that took place in January 2008 and the Polish group in this year's St Patrick's Day Parade.

GIPA will also be launching its new film project, 'The Fylym' – a series of Polish and Irish movie evenings. The screenings will take place every month at The Cellar Bar.

The first film in the series will be shown at 8pm on the night. 'Seksmisja' (1984) is one of the best-known Polish comedies. It will contain English subtitles.
