Page 1 of 2 Since she won the RTÉ Musician of the Future competition in 1990, Cara O'Sullivan has risen to prominence as one of Ireland's leading sopranos. Lisa Regan meets the Cork woman, who joins star Chilean tenor Tito Beltrán, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and conductor David Brophy for an opera gala in Leisureland tomorrow, Thursday 6 September  Is this your first time performing in Galway?
What have you been up to until now? What have I been up to? A lot!!! That’s the short answer. The long answer includes several performances of new and revisited repertoire, two new operas, one light opera and a Masters Degree, and that’s in the last 18 months! What was the highlight of the last year? Receiving a very good result in the aforementioned degree was right up there. Modesty forbids me to tell you what I was awarded! What are your plans for the year ahead? I have several concert tours planned, including a tour of Northern Ireland with the Ulster Orchestra in Limerick, Dublin, Cork and New York. |
