What type of music do you like to listen to?
All sorts, from classical to indigenous music, and all points in between. If it’s good music, I listen.

How do you think traditional Irish music and singing is seen nowadays?
I think it is widely respected worldwide. It seems to be thriving. At home, so many children are taking music lessons and singing and dancing. It is very healthy; they will take it to another level, I think.

If you could work with any recording artist who would it be?
Dolly Parton, for many reasons. I love her style and her songs. I think she has an empathy with the Irish style of singing, which shows her Irish heritage.

What is next for Sean Keane?
The shows on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 this month, the DVD release later on in the year. I don’t think any further than that!

Sean Keane will play the Town Hall Theatre at 8pm. Tickets, €25, are available from 091-569777.
