Frankie Gavin, Máirtin O'Connor and Mary McPartlan are just some of the performers set to appear at the Aula Maxima, NUI, Galway tomorrow Thursday, 7 February as part of special night of traditional music, storytelling and dance.

The evening will also feature musicians Ronan Browne, Seamie O'Dowd, and sean-nós singer Róisín Elsafty. The show will be unique in that each performer will give a short talk on their performance, giving an insight into their respective art forms.

Sean-nós dancer Roisín Ní Mhainín and traditional storyteller Clare Muireann Murphy will also perform in their own inimitable traditional styles.

The event is part of NUI, Galway's Arts in Action programme and is featured in the 2008 Múscailt Arts festival programme.

Arts in Action is a specially designed programme for undergraduate students in the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies. The programme offers illustrated performances and lectures in a variety of art forms and acts as an open invitation to come closer to the creative arts.

The concert is open to the public. Doors will be open from 7pm and tickets are available on the door. Performance begins at 7.30pm sharp. Admission is €10 and €5 for students.
