Recent media attention given to the needs of people with Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland has led Spirit of Voice to team up with Rahaly castle to present a fundraising evening. ![]() Spirit of Voice presents a memorable evening of music and spoken word entertainment in the beautiful 13th century tower home setting of Rahaly Castle, Gort, County Galway on Saturday 1 March at 8pm. The evening will feature music from Café Kinvara, a musical sojourn through time, place, feeling and imagination, with instrumentals from Europe, Russia, South America and Africa, songs from Ireland, France and American jazz folk. Providing the spoken aspect of the evening is Australian storyteller Matthew Noone. Noone’s style of telling uses African drums, Indian lutes and the odd touch of rockin guitar, which creates a rich sensory experience of the myths and folk tales he weaves. MC for the night is slam poet Marty Mulligan, direct from the Electric Picnic and Glastonbury festivals. Limited seats are available so advance booking is advised. Tickets are priced at €20 and are available from Gallery Cafe Hostel, Gort Square, Galway on 091-630630. |
