Friday 25 April sees the first instalment of Galway's newest club night, Night Falls, in The Cellar Underground, Eglinton Street. Resident DJs, Ger Z (ex-110th Street) and PTK (Leaders of Men/Carrick-on-Shannon Lovely Baby competition Runner Up 1983) will be spinning a selection of the finest house, nu-disco, techno, minimal and Balearic sounds on a monthly basis in Galway's freshest club space.

Along with residents' nights, Night Falls will also host special parties showcasing the finest national and international DJ talent; and to kick things off on the 25th, Night Falls proudly host a special DFA Records party, with Marcus Lambkin, aka Shit Robot, joining Ger Z on the decks.

Galway audiences may well have already experienced a Shit Robot set, with Lambkin entertaining the masses in the O2 Arena on the Friday night at Electric Picnic last September with an eclectic mix of house and techno. Dublin born Lambkin moved to New York in 1992 and started DJing in bars around the East Village in Manhattan. This led to a residency at the now legendary Save the Robots club night.

He formed Plant Records with Dominique Keegan (one-half of live electronic act The Glass), and also ran Plant Saturdays at Centro-Fly and then the Plant Bar where Marcus teamed up with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem to start the Shit Robot party.

Currently residing in Stuttgart, Marcus has been touring the US and Europe with LCD Soundsystem and The Juan Maclean. With a James Murphy-produced Shit Robot album lined up for a summer release on DFA, following on from a number of excellent 12” releases and remixes, expect to see Lambkin's star continue to rise. One thing is for sure, if Lambkin's robotic credentials are suspect, his DJing ability is anything but!

Doors on the night will be from 10pm, and a limited number of pre-sale tickets will be available from The Cellar Bar.
