Though everyone seems to be in mood for staying in nowadays, talk has turned to New Year's Eve and, though house parties seem to be mentioned a lot, many people are looking towards venues in town for their kicks for the night. On the clubbing side of things, there's great choice for dancers of different persuasions. Kelly's will be rocking and rolling to the sounds of their indie night, Substance with Keith Disconnect and Josh Clarke at the controls. The Cellar Bar and Deeper are open on two floors, with The Converse Allstars singing in the New Year upstairs whole the sleazy soul and rockabilly funk of the Bad To The Bone crew will keep the floor moving in the Deeper basement, while in Bar 903 Graham Dolan an Justin Robertson will be on the ones and twos. Live music wise, The Crane Bar will be having a session with regulars like The Lazy Blues Band, Greg Cotter, Mary Flanagan and others throwing down the tunes, while the Roisin Dubh will be the place to be for lovers of quality indie music, as Gugai and crew lay on a veritable smorgasbord of top Irish talent, with Fight Like Apes, Messiah J & The Expert, Disconnect 4, Le Galaxie and Feed The Bears all playing live. Now all you have to do is decide where you want to go? |
