What happens when ten musicians meet up and decide to form a band?
That is the question posed by the Beatlesons on their MySpace page, which describes the band's sound as 'difficult to describe'. Imagine the Ramones supporting Debby Harry or Joan Jett singing along with Johnny Cash, they say.
The Beatlesons are now made up seven instrumentalists, two front singers plus - to make it round and complete - the great performance and voice of the one and only Monique. They list their influences as The Pogues, Social Distortion, Johnny Cash, Ramones, Blondie, Hans Albers, Trio, Mano Negra…
The band will play in the Róisín Dubh on Dominick Street on Wednesday 16 April at 9pm. Tickets, €12.50, are available from the Róisín Dubh.
