Galway poet Miceál Kearney will debut and read from his first collection of poetry in the Galway City Museum on Saturday 31 May at 1pm.

At just 27 years of age, Kearney is the eldest in a family of four and works on the family farm. In 2001 he began writing poetry and has been published in Ireland, England and America. He is the winner of the 2006 Cuisle, the 2007 Baffle Bard, the 2007 Cúirt Poetry Grand Slam and the 2007 North Beach Poetry Nights' Grand Slam.

He was short-listed for the 2007 Over the Edge/Cúirt Showcase and twice for the Cinnamon Press Poetry Collection Award.
