TV presenter Hector ó h'Eochagáin will be a special guest at the Laughter Lounge tonight where he will take to the stage alongside Michael Mee, Carol Tobin and Paddy O'Shea at 9pm. Hector ó h'Eochagáin's television career is distinguished by his relaxed, informal, candid and irreverent style. As a versatile presenter, he has introduced people and places into our living rooms and won legions of fans in the process. Having established himself as a successful comedian and writer at home in Ireland, Michael Mee moved to England to bring his intelligent, quick wit and talent for storytelling to the UK scene. He has performed at the Murphys Laughter Lounge, Dublin, City Limits, Cork, Galway Arts Festival and all the major venues in Ireland, and has been invited to support Tommy Tiernan, Rich Hall, Ed Byrne, Simon Munnery and Phil Nicol. Fresh from her success in the Dark Show at this year's Kilkenny Cats Laughs, where she performed with Rich Hall, Carol Tobin is a dark, surreal comic who deals with subject matters that many comics don't touch. Paddy O'Shea took to the comedy world while attempting a degree in UCC. He gave birth to the UCC Comedy Society, one of UCC's successful societies, providing his intro into the comedy world. He hosted Ireland's First University Comedy Festival and intervarsity Competition between Edinburgh, Maynooth and Galway and won the Intervarsity Award for Stand Up Comedy. Paddy's use of a unique brand of imaginary comedy supplied with surrealism and props woos audiences in every location. Tickets, €12.50, are available from the Róisín Dubh. |
