Reggae king Jah Tubby will play the Black Box, on Saturday 11 August.
Jah Tubby ran his first dance in the UK in 1971 and, since then, the
Jah Tubby's Sound has grown into one of the biggest reggae sound
systems and production outfits in the world.
Tubby's East London outfit produces music, cuts vinyl, and builds
customised amplifiers and speakers for reggae sound systems. Like King
Tubby in Jamaica, Jah Tubby began building his own sound system
equipment to do justice to the reggae cuts that were being produced in
the UK and Jamaica.
Jah Tubby's full crew travels to Galway
with Prof Natty the Mike Technician and two singers - Dixie Peach and
Errol Bellot - who have been singing with the Jah Tubby's sound since
the 1970s.
Jah Tubby's is a true legend in reggae circles.
From his East London base, Tubby's masters and presses vinyl for most
of the UK and European reggae producers. Most, if not all, of the top
roots sound systems worldwide have had some part of their system built
by Jah Tubbys.
Tickets now available from the Town Hall
Theatre €15.00 and will also be available at the door. For more
