Irish singer Seamus Duffy and Israeli musician Rafael Sabar will perform together in the Amnesty International Freedom Café from 5pm on Thursday 5 June. Guitarist Rafael has a great love of music, having learned to play the guitar when he joined the army at the age of 18. He was a drummer before that, but realized that guitar is a better instrument for him because he can express himself through his guitar music. From the day he learned Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' he never stopped playing, writing or practicing. Seamus Duffy is from Louth but has been living in Galway for the last few months now. His influences include Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Tom Waits and the set will be a mixture of originals and covers. Admission to this event is free. If you are interested in playing or require details, contact Anna Sorensdotter, Amnesty International, 2-3 Middle Street on 091-533637 or check out www.amnesty.ie. |
