RocknaRolla
Rating: 15A Guy Ritchie returns to the wisecracking London gangster milieu of his debut film 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and its follow-up 'Snatch' for this twisting tale of a real estate scam that has the potential to make millions of pounds, but leads to numerous members of the criminal underworld wanting to claim their share. The international cast is headed by Brit Gerard Butler as a street smart con named One Two, with support coming from Thandie Newton, Gemma Arterton, Tom Wilkinson, Toby Kebbell and US rapper Ludacris. Guy Ritchie is back with a London based gangster thriller. The Duchess
Rating: 15A Director Saul Dibb moves from the grit and grime of his West London-set debut 'Bullet Boy' to the beauteous environs of the landed gentry of the late eighteenth century with his belated follow-up, 'The Duchess'. Keira Knightly assumes the role of the sociable but conflicted Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, married young to the unloving duke (played by Ralph Fiennes), whose only desire is to sire an heir. When she gives birth to two girls in a row, he starts to look elsewhere for a suitable mother, leaving Georgiana to watch on in despair. A chronicle of the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. Bangkok Dangerous
Rating: 15A Hong Kong born siblings Oxide and Danny Pang made waves with their debut film 'Bangkok Dangerous' about a deaf-mute assassin who executes his victims with cold precision. In this remake, Nic Cage assumes this central role (albeit with the power of speech) as Joe, a ruthless hit man who is sent to Bangkok for a series of missions, and ends up falling in love with a local woman as well as developing a strange bond with his errand boy. The life of an assassin takes an unexpected turn when he travels to Thailand to complete a series of killings. |
