The Royal Theatre Castlebar will play host to Gift Grub-Live on Friday 9 April. Starring comedian and satirist Mario Rosenstock, Gift Grub is the biggest selling Irish comedy/spoken word CD of all time, having nine Top 5 albums and over half a million CD sales.

Having joined the team at Ian Dempsey's Breakfast Show on Today FM ten years ago, Mario Rosenstock's Gift Grub continues to attract tens of thousands of listeners from across Ireland every weekday morning.

Leaving no stone unturned to get his characters, even using a chicken tikka sandwich to do Brian Cowen, his success is not only due to his incredible mimic skills, but also to his astute ability to react with razor sharp satire to breaking news stories and current affairs.

With Gift Grub, Rosenstock turns the spotlight on the stories and characters of the day, posing the questions so often left unasked by even the toughest journalists and newscasters. Rosenstock's characters give voice to the nations thoughts and no public figures are exempt from his searing satirical masterpieces.

So popular was Mario's portrayal of Jose Mourinho singing 'José And His Amazing Technicolor® Overcoat' that 'The Special One' invited Mario to perform a private show for the entire Chelsea squad! Similarly in December 2005, a parody of Will Young's song 'Leave Right Now' relating to the events surrounding Roy Keane's dismissal from Manchester United was released as a charity single and went straight in at the number one position on the Irish Christmas charts.
